“Fantastic place to stay! 5 Stars!
This property was just fantastic for us! There were 4 of us and we had plenty of room in this spacious house. The kitchen was well supplied, although it does not have a dishwasher. But it was very easy to wash up dishes. There is only 1 bathroom in the house, but there is access to another bathroom with shower that is attached to the other house on the property. That came in very handy for us. The beach is just a short walk away, and there are many restaurants and a grocery store just up on the main road. The yard and outdoor picnic area is beautiful. Our only regret was that we didn't stay in the area for longer. Hopefully we will return one day soon.”

Cozy & Quiet Getaway
“I chose this property for a girls weekend with my mom and sister. It was exactly what we needed---we each had privacy with our own room (shared bathroom) and each of us had the same size bed (very comfy beds). The home is interesting and eclectic, and has everything we needed for a lovely stay. We especially loved the fireplace because it was chilly, and the large kitchen table for playing games. The grounds are pretty and well maintained. And the home is close to both the ocean and town. We were super happy and will be back!”

“Our family and friend gathering was perfectly accommodated. The weather was as expected (rainy) so we couldn’t enjoy the lovely yard and grill, but there was plenty of cookware, games, and the beach was still close enough for shorter walks. We would definitely return in the summer!”

“The first that struck me was the absolute spotlessness of the house. It sparkled! everything was just wonderful and there wasn't a thing I needed that the hosts hadn't thought of and provided. Unfortunately, we had to leave early due to a medical situation, but would to love to stay here again.”

“We enjoyed our stay at the Hewitt house. Three bedrooms, a large living room, kitchen with everything you need to cook was perfect for our stay. The yard is well maintained, too. We were close enough to the beach AND Discovery trail to walk down there several times during “breaks” in the weather. We drove to Cape Disappointment and other towns north. Had the weather been better, we would have walked instead of driving to Long Beach, but driving was no problem.. The fireplace and tv (to watch NCAA basketball tourney) was a favorite activity when the rain and wind were a bit much! The history of Hewitt house was fascinating and we were glad there was information about it, as well as several brochures of places to see, explore, eat, etc. We highly recommend Hewitt House if you want a Washington Coast experience!”

My family goes to the beach about 3 times a year and we always try new houses and motels but we definitely found one that beats everything else. “We enjoyed everything we did and loved staying in [The Last Resort]. We felt all the instructions were easy to follow and were able to get in the house with no problem. The grounds are wonderful and kept up so nicely everything was very orderly and easy to find. The inside of [The Last Resort] was also wonderful, very clean and orderly, the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed having all the information available to read for places to visit etc. We loved the art work on the walls and all the decorations. We enjoyed the location of the house; it was very convenient for everything we did. We had dinner at the Depot which was wonderful food. We enjoyed the place thoroughly and felt that you go to great lengths to keep it neat and orderly and perfect for your guests. We appreciate you renting to us as we had such a wonderful visit!

“We adored the cottage [The Last Resort] we stayed in Feb 21-24. It snowed heavily while we were there, making it even more memorable (and cold!). We drove up the entire beach, visited the antique shops, ate lunch at several different restaurants, visited the light houses, and saw several eagles. We loved the location and I especially loved all the old signs along the fence in the back yard! We enjoyed ourselves very much! Thanks again.”

“I have been consistently disappointed with vacation rentals based on other people's reviews. This place was lovely! Quiet, clean, comfortable furniture, and decent beds. Easy walk to the beach without being so close you get all the wind, great for hiking and biking, we also saw four bald eagles during our stay, it was incredible. We are already talking about going back for another stay!”

“This rental is great! The house was very clean, maybe one of the cleanest rentals we've stayed at. It's comfy and cozy on a quiet street and right near the beach. It is well stocked, with ample towels, kitchen accessories, and extra blankets. The propane fireplace was perfect when we had a few stormy days during our stay. Also nicely located near all the things we wanted to see. Would recommend!”

“Thanks for the opportunity to stay at [The Last Resort]. It worked absolutely perfect for us and our 8-year-old grandson. You have furnished it beautifully with all the comforts of home. And the kitchen! Usually we find the utensil drawer of places we have rented with only about five or six items; you have it stocked like our utensil drawer. Your cozy home is beautifully maintained. The woodwork, beautiful wooden doors with their crystal knobs, the appliances and furnishings all show tender loving care. After trying a number of places on the Long Beach Peninsula over the years, yours fits us the best. [The Big House] was lovely for us last year but we didn't need as much space. Our history with Long Beach has covered over 50 years. And, incidentally, I took watercolor painting lessons from Charles Mulvey back in the 1960's. I felt a lot of comfort being surrounded by his work in both of your houses. You have great taste! We look forward to doing business with you again.”
